BattleMath for Teachers

A free Battleship-style game where every shot is a math problem. Students practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division without feeling like they're doing a worksheet. No accounts, no names, no sign-up.

Share with your class

Send BattleMath to your students as an assignment, material or announcement.

Works the same in Canvas, Schoology, Seesaw, email or on the board. Nothing to install on Chromebooks, tablets or phones.

No accounts, no names

Students open the link and play. BattleMath doesn't ask for names, emails or logins.

Right level for everyone

Pick the operations and difficulty, from first addition to times tables and division, before a game starts.

Free and ad-free

Nothing to buy, nothing to download, and no ads between students and the math.

Using it in class

  1. Share the link above. Students open it on any device with a browser.
  2. For practice alone, students choose Quick Battle to play the computer.
  3. To pair students up, one of them creates a head-to-head game and sends the private link or code to a classmate. They play in real time on their own devices.
  4. Set the operations and difficulty to match what you're teaching this week.
  5. Tell students to play classmates through a private link or code. The Play Random Opponent button on the home screen pairs a player with another player online, so skip it in class. There is no chat or messaging in the game.

A Quick Battle takes a few minutes; a full game takes around ten to twenty. Students who finish early can raise the difficulty and go again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do students need an account?

No. Students open the link and play. BattleMath doesn't ask for names, emails or accounts.

What data does BattleMath collect?

Anonymous gameplay counts (for example how many games are played and which operations are answered correctly) so we can improve the game. These aren't tied to any student. Leaderboard nicknames are picked from a fixed list of sea-themed names, so students never type their own.

Can students be matched with strangers?

Only if they press Play Random Opponent, which pairs a player with another player online. There is no chat, and players are never shown names. Games with classmates use a private link or code instead.

Does it cost anything?

No. BattleMath is free, has no ads, and runs in the browser on Chromebooks, tablets, phones and computers.

How can students play together?

One student creates a game and shares the private link or code with a classmate. Then they play head to head in real time.

BattleMath is built by one developer and shaped by the teachers who use it. If something would make it work better in your classroom, you can send feedback from the menu inside the game.
